I tried to a small part of my run when I had the broody and chicks, just to keep the chicks warm and dry. I used heavy duty polythene, but I couldn't get it tight enough to stop the rain collecting in the middle ~ it was a disaster! But to be fair is was good enough for the time I wanted it. A pole up the middle should help prevent puddles forming.
