|
|
So, Chicken Run Mk II is going to be tough enough so that I don't NEED to trust someone to lock them up at night if I can't get back in time, because when I did that, 4/6 of the girls got foxed.
Weldmesh it is, then. But where can I get a large amount of 6' weldmesh for a reasonable price in the Berkshire area? Any ideas? Is there a chicken discount card or anything?!? Thanks. Oh, and hello! |

| welcome to the forum attila. I'm sorry I can't help you out with a supplier of 6' weldmesh. I have only seen it in 3' rolls. I'll be interested to hear what the others have to say re a supplier, it would be so much easier with 6' instead of 3' |

As it happens, I've just got back from the unfortunately-named Scats near Basingstoke, where I picked up 25m of 6' 5cm mesh wire for £55. I saw electric fencers - £86 for the cheapest unit, will look out second hand. |

We usually go to the one at Godalming as it's a bit bigger & they seem to have more chickeny stuff. Unless the Basingstoke one has had an upgrade since we were last there of course! |

| Just a note - apparently what I bought isn't technically weld-mesh, it's the twisted stuff, but they said it was fox-proof. Still about half the price of the same stuff in town centre stores |

| the best price you're likley to get is from www.moncaster.co.uk . The cheapest of the big stores is b&q at about £20/6metres for 3', you should be able to pay about the same +carriage for 30metres from moncasters. |

The cheapest one I can see on there is £52 for 30 mtrs, so where is the one for £20 you posted about? Or am I looking in the wrong place? |

Thanks for that C-H-M. Just me being thick - looked quickly earlier & didn't see the 'next' down the bottom of the page!
What's the difference between 16g, 19g & 23g?? (OH would probably know but can't ask at the moment) |

It's the thickness of the wire, 16g being thinner than the 19g
I think we got 19g when we did ours |
