any one got any ideas of how to keep my pekin's feeet nice and neat because i don't really want them covered in mud.

| You could keep them inside if you had the room. Other than that I think it's a matter of wash and brush up eery time they get muddy |

| I've put a layer of gravel down in my run and also half covered the base with paving slabs. It's working so far. You could also trim some of the foot feathers off if you aren't showing your pekins. |

Sawdust is what we use but we have access to tons of it and its used in all our runs and keeps the birds lovely and clean.Shavings is too light and will blow all over the place in windy spells.Trust me we'v tried it
Our Sabelpoots Barbu D'Uccles Pekins Brahma and Cochins all feathered feet varieties have good feet feathers as a result.Its also good at absorbing the moisture from droppings so it doesnt smell so quickly as other run material.
We found bark chippings good initially but it breaks down quickly and goes sour very fast too with chickens on it. so we dont use it anymore. |

the naughty girl forgot to mention that they live right by the front door on the gravel ,so i can spray wash the gravel ,there are only 2 of them so should be alright ,and we all know who has to keep them clean
