That's really good news, take your hubby out a nice cupper tell him all of us on pk are spurring his diy on. you could make a sort of mesh border around your run .just put it on the floor and peg it down with some thing. that way you can move it with your run. I use large stones on top of mine. stop the little
###### digging under. cause they will if they can. |

I'm so sorry Sarah. Hope the changes are all now in place and foxy made totally unwelcome.
The trouble with these creatures (beautiful to look at they may be) is that once they know there are chickens they keep coming back.
When one paid us a visit, I think he came back through the end of the garden 3 times that same day ~ each time the girls all stood to attention necks stretched ~ shouting. I'd go out and talk to them and they'd calm down. But this went on for 4 days ~ needless to say they didn't free range for a while ~ but you would know when he was around by their flock attitude, all petty internal disputes forgotten whilst they faced the enemy.
I hope you get the better of him soon.
Take care ~ safe in the knowledge that your girls had a lovely time with you no matter how short that time was and they knew you loved them. |

Thanks all, the house is now so secure that i have trouble getting into it and i keep sending OH out to pee round it too!
The girls are still free ranging in the garden when i am home but they are going to bed earlier so that i can make sure they are safely locked up. Needless to say that this is not a popular decision!
The oven readies actually have now come into their own and have started to refeather and have just discovered the joys of the dust bath!
I guess it is nice to know that good has come out of it!
I think i will be looking to restock some a bit further into the spring so now i will have to decide what to have..... |

There's always Salisbury tomorrow......!
Or there is another one in March, I believe. |

Hmm, am not working that day! Maybe i could persuade OH that he wants a surprise day out....
He was talking today about expanding the chickens - i shall work on him over the next month - excellent timing |

I fear i may be disappearing under a pile of feathers fairly early on in the day though! |

I am so pleased to hear that you have got over the horror of the attack. Can we see pictures of your oven readies in their new found happiness.
So what would you like to get from Salisbury? Is it a very long list to be whittled down or just a large sheet of paper with nothing on it, just in case something catches your eye? |

I will take some pics next week as at the moment they have new feathers emerging so they look like a strange alien breed!
As for Salisbury, i think that i shall just see what happens, I would like to try to be restrained so may not register to bid at all rather than find myself paying vast sums for something very random!! |
