Need some info on this if anyone has any?
1) Is there a website? (looked but haven't found it yet)
2) Who is going?
3) Is it easy to find?
4) Is it easy to park?
5) Will we need wellies/coats/thermals, or is it undercover?
6) Does it cost to just go in & look?
The answers to some of these questions will probably be on the website if I can find it! |

Thanks George for such a speedy reply!
Just need the website then, & an idea of who is going.
We hope to go, as long as my son Alex is better by then (nasty cough/cold) |

I think that quite a few from the PP forum were planning to go - not sure how you'll recognise them though ! |

Hi CP
I was looking at it last week. Can't get there this year - but will aim to go next.

Looked at the listings Heather - there seems to be a few Cream Legbars, but in pairs or more only. |

It's a great auction site - but draughty and cold so wrap up. Wear comfy warm shoes as there's a lot of standing about.
The cafe is fantastic and does great breakfasts, etc.
Take a box or two if you plan to buy any chooks. Once you've bought your chooks keep a beady eye on them because it has been known for them to 'disappear' from their cage whilst you go and pay (hopefully the security is stepped up by now).It can become a bit of a rugby scrum when all the buyers are trying to look at all the chickens all at the same time. (helps if you are tall as some of the cages are quite high up).
It also helps to take a very strong willed friend who will drag you out of the building when bidding fever takes over your otherwise sensible and constrained brain cells |

P.S. Forgot to add - you will need to go to the Office as soon as you arrive to get your 'Buyers Number' - (that's the card with a number printed on it that you wave in the air for the auctioneer to see if you are bidding on a lot). Don't leave it until you've looked at the chickens as by then there will be a huge queue of folk all trying to get their card as well and you might miss the start of the bidding.
It's worth getting a card even if you don't intend to bid - as sods law dictates that if you don't get a card - bidding starts - and you will suddenly see a 'must have chook!'
That's what happens at the Tuesday auctions anyway so I presume it will be the same for the Sat. auction. |

Jakki, how can you be going not intending to buy anything? You must be very strong willed!
Does your mum know what you're up to on Saturday, Fangs? |
