Does anyone have copy of the book by Victoria Roberts - Diseases of Free Range Poultry? I've heard it mentioned a few times and wondered if you would recommend it? I've got a couple of beginners-type books, but I've had my fair share of poorly hens in the past month and didn't find much to help me in them. Yes, I know there's this forum, but I don't always like to look stoopid ! |

Sorry don't have the book, but just wanted to say - the only way to look stupid here is not to ask when you need answers. We all try to help each other, it's that kind of place! |

| I've had it since the first edition and it's absolutely brilliant. I still rely on a lot of the old books for 'country cures' but I can quote her if need be to a vet as of course, she is a vet, and is not afraid to recommend unorthodox treatment |

Well I've found it to be a very good bedtime read ! Seriously, it is very readable with loads of useful information in easy to understand language - what I mean is you don't have to be a vet!!!!
I certainly don't think it could ever replace a trip to the vet with a poorly chook, but at least my next visit will see me a bit more informed than before. So thumbs up from me |

I've just bought a copy of this - on the recommendation of my vet (who only deals with poultry). I do think the title is a little misleading - as it covers an awful lot more than just diseases. So much more helpful than the small sections in the other books I have (Starting with Bantams etc), practical and informative. Definitely worth having on the shelf.
