I always think each of us know instinctively when it is time for us to call it a day with one of our own animals, as I'm sure you did with yours.

I'm truly sorry to hear you didn't win the battle for your hen, but from what you wrote you certainly did your best on her behalf.

Always sad to lose one Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Hugs,
Lisa

thinking of you
I'm sure you did the best for your hen

so sorry to hear of a sad ending to this thread. Take care, Steph and don't blame yourself, you did what you could with what you had, and I'm sure your girl knew you were doing your best and loved her.

I've tried before, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
it's recognising when they have had enough that to me is the most important bit Confused
It's always hard but at least you know that you did everything that you could

Just on the seeing a vet for drugs thingy, my local vet will give me prescription drugs once a hen is seen, any hen, whether that's the sick hen or not!
Summat to do with legalities of them prescribing without knowing you keep chooks (according to them)
