to lay your suspicions to rest - those feet belong to me Smile I was busy putting a blow torch over all the joints and cracks in the coop and the 2 wyandottes come to 'help' or check on health and safety or even heaven forbid, get in the way!!

Here is a question. How can you tell the males from the females in the youngsters? Just curious I have managed to hatch out one silver laced wyandotte chick and am intrigued as to how to sex it?? All help gratefully received d'oh!

Hi all,

Just wondering does anyone know whether there is such a thing as a blue laced bantam? I've only seen them as large foul and much as I would like them, my husband thinks we have enough big birds with our 2 RIR and 2 black rocks. I'm thinking if poss. I would quite like to raise them from eggs if anyone knows where I can get any??

Thanks

Lizz

breeding laced Wyandottes;

If you mate:
Gold laced X Gold laced = 100% gold laced
Blue laced X Blue laced = 50% Blue laced,25% Gold laced,25% Buff laced
Blue X Buff laced = 50% Blue laced , 50% Buff laced
Buff laced X Gold Laced = 100% Blue laced
Buff laced X Buff laced = 100% buff laced
Blue X Black = 50% Blue laced, 50% Gold Laced

Thats a fantastic looking hen Bluelaced. The lacing is great and she has a nice comb too. I'm sure she would do well at any show Very Happy Very Happy

Thank you, I really like her and have been concentrating on breeding this year, but will get her to some shows and see how she goes on. I have another promising girl and although her ground colour is good I dont think her lacing is as good as the hen above.
