Our house move has been brought forward to the end of the month....... and I'm going to lose my brick built coop. We can detach and take the full height roofed run with us (phew) but lovely as MOH is - he's a DIY nightmare - and I work full time and a looking for a suitable house that will comfortably accommodate 12 large fowl (Including a light Sussex c**k).

Any suggestions as to where I could go for something suitable? (Not too pricey as finances are a bit tight at the moment)

I'd love to help but I'm stacked out out the moment. Why not just grab a cheap shed from a DIY shop until you sort something permenate? Or Free ads - there often shed free to collector. The other thing I've seen is using an IBC (1000 litre plastic container often used for import conc. orange juice). YOu can buy them for about £40 in free ads or ebay - just cut a hole in there for a door.

I agree about the shed - my original house for the girls was a home made one, which is up on log stilts.
When my lads abandoned their 'den' (not sure what size it is but its bigger than an average shed), I recycled it for the chooks - and because of all that room I have to get more girls to fill it Wink

There are often buyer collects type deals in free ads, or end of line sales at DIY places (and smaller outlets)

dont despair!

Contact Bob and Westaway poultry housing. Better quality than most and certainly a whole lot cheaper than most of the big companies. A better range too :0)

really nice chap. Family run business and years and years of poultry experience. Not many breeders nowadays have pet cockerels roaming about like he does Smile Simply because he loves them.
