Well done George,
Keep the info coming. I have been off line all day and couldnn't find out what was happening, nearly drove 17 miles to go to another computer with Boradband (sad ehhhh). Withdrawal symptoms very bad. Just couldn't do without this forum.George what makes you think the Welsummer is a boy. I have three and would be interested to know?? |

Still just the 3 hatched so far, the other welsummer has started pipping,
I'll take another piccy when the other LS has dried off a bit more.
The welsummer just an uneducated guess,
It'll be interesting to compare the other when it hatches though.
All the best

As far as I can remember sexing welsummers depends on the darkness and length of the stripe down the back. I think the longer and darker ones are females. Sure someone will come along who nows for sure

Thanks all,
The second welsummer hatched about 1 hour ago, so when she's dried off a bit I;ll see if there's any difference
One of the Maran's is pipping and the 3 older ones are now in the brooder looking very confused at suddenly having lots of room
I think the Speckled Sussex might also be pipping but it's in an awkard position to see properly (why don't they make them easier to look into )
[mind you I think knobby's a girl ]
All the best
