| debs, please don't put such a temptaton in front of me. Let me see about a week to get some eggs then 3 weeks to hatch them then another 6 weeks inside ~ that's over 2 months.....oooo it almost seems too tempting to resist ~ but by then I'll be on my own again and would have to deal with any boys. I'll think on that some more. |

I'm sure that someone on here would willingly help with the boys!!!
Not that I'm trying to tempt you are anything - but your timescale seems to fit in nicely with your recovery, and of course the nicer weather will be here, and, and and, well you know you want to!!! LOL |

I know I want to, not sure what my resident daughter would say. She's the one whose always saying 'angles' to me when I look as if I'm going to go over the 90 mark........but....it would be nice for her children to see the chicks hatch, don't you think ~ they go in just over 4 weeks.
Will sleep on the thought and see what develops. |

Oh absolutely!
And so educational too. And this would be a 'hands on' 'real life' education.
Think of your grandchildren Summayah ROFL
Ultimately no-one should pressure or persuade you to do something that you aren't ready for. You will KNOW when it feels right for you - and if that time is now - then go for it. And if not - wait until it is.
Big hugs for you

Thanks debs.
Part of me wants to and part of me is a little afraid ~ what if in real life I can't look after them properly again? I can't face going through that again ~ it was just too hard last time.
I guess I'll just keep looking for now and like you say when I feel it's right, it will be |

I think your fears are totally normal and rational Summayah, and I admire you for being aware enough to think that way.
You will KNOW when it's right and you will have more chooks - of that I am certain. And I think with the progress you've made and all the ideas you have got to make things easier - it really won't be too far away.
Keep positive girl and focus on what you want - and it will be come a reality.
Love
Debs
