A young cream legbar pullet.
I find these are a chatty friendly breed, a little flighty but nowhere near as bad as leghorns. Mine lay approx 4-5 sky blue eggs per week.

| Oh dear, we've only recently got 5 hens, and we are already thinking we've got enough room for a few more! I love the egg colur of the legbars, and they look great too.Are cream crested legbars OK if you have small children? What's their temperament like? And where did everyone get theirs from? Anyone know of breeders based in the South-West of England (for future reference!!) |

my roo is really friendly, pops through the back door to help himself to food.
he's fine with the kids as well
Haven't got any hens (yet) so can't help you with their temperament |

My cockerel came from a hatching egg and my pullets came from someone in Southampton, I can give you his details if you want them, just PM me.
My legbar pullets are all friendly enough if you catch them, happy to sit on your arm and be stroked. They are a bit more nervous than my other birds, a little tricky to catch. The cockerel is much easier to catch and very friendly (but I have had him from an egg).
Fine with kids, my 6 year old son loves them.
cheers

| I think they are fun hens-always active always up to something. not nervy but lively. not as inclined to sit on you as some of my others but just as quick to run for tipbits. |

| May I please be a pendant? They are correctly called Cream Legbars according to British Poultry Standards. Since neither the gold nor the silver is crested, Cream Legbar identifies the breed. Must be in Grumpy Old Woman mode. |

i have just started keeping chickens and have got two 5 day old chicks.
the breeder picked females, but how can you tell?
the both have brown markings on their backs and wings but one is slightly darker on the head than the other.
i can't wait to see them growing up and start laying |
