have you been on deliahs or river cottage web site, there are some nice receipes there for chicken.

I've got a lovely pepper dip if you want something for arrival.

Starter: how about smoked trout?

How about covering them with streaky bacon until the last half hour or so. Helps to stop drying out. Then you get some lovely crispy bacon to have with your chicken too Very Happy

if you want something a bit different to go with the chicken what about roated veggies. i usually do sweet potato, parsnip, carrot, shallots, pepper and celariac. cut them all into inch chunks, toss in olive oil with crushed black pepper, mixed herbs and garlic and them chuck them in the oven whilst you roast the chicken

Thanks for all your ideas guys. The roasted veg sounds good, unfortunatly, one of our guests cooked something very similar for us a couple of weeks back Confused
I've decided on Smoked Mackerel pate, which I can make tomorrow as I have to go to Exeter Friday afternoon.
I bought some Asparagus tips, and some baby leeks today, so will buy a few more veg tomorrow. I'll do a seperate stuffing I think, to help bulk out and the Pot Gratin.
Now, I'm hoping Sharon will do desert cos I haven't even thought about that yet Rolling Eyes

I don't know Suz, I rarely go to Exeter (I'm not that keen on it) sorry Laughing
Thanks for posting the recipe B. I may do that ONE day, meanwhile the M & S ads done it again, and they're advertising gorgeous profiterols. So maybe pick some up in Exeter and save myself the effort.
