Hi Lulu
The girls in the chemist I went to get mine fell about laughing when I told them what I needed it for. I'm sure they will be saying to people - you'll never guess what happened to me today at work!!!! Laughing
Glad to hear things seem to be improving! I also spend time massaging the crop to 1) get rid of any excess liquid via the mouth and 2) to help any blockages start moving in the right direction.

Good luck

I expected the same reaction in our chemist, but instead they were really interested, and took notes!! But when I went to the butchers this morning, to buy some eggs (the girls aren't laying yet!), THEY fell about laughing when I told them we had problems, and the treatment we were giving.

Well, Daktarin treatment continues, and hopefully I shall acquire Teramycin tomorrow. We have been putting her in a separate run during the day, inside their house, and have given her a restricted diet of just layer pellets and water. Her crop seems to be fine whilst she's on this and the problem starts again once she is allowed free access to the straw yard, and the wider world.

I am beginning to think we may have a problem here, and that we shall never get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for your help.

That's sounding really good !

She's maybe like my pekin - and just prone to it, if you're aware of it you can catch it early before it becomes a problem.
I keep a close eye on my girl - and as soon as I see any signs I start massaging and giving daktarin. The last time I didn't even have to isolate her.

It's a bit like children that are prone to ear infections or similar! You just learn to accept it as being part of their lives.

Just to update you, and thank you for all the advice. She's looking SO much better now, though will continue treatment for a couple more days to be on the safe side. Thanks again. Lulu
