I grew these this year, in a pot, on the window ledge. I have to admit, they looked a little neglected at times but I have a fari few I have just harvested. Some had begun to de hyrdrate, along with the plant. None of them are more than 5.5cm in length, and soem are shorter.
What next?? Leave them to dry off naturally, or help them in a low oven?

We've cut all our chillies off with the green stalk and sewn them into strings and hanging them to dry. They've been up for about 2 weeks, now, and are drying just fine naturally. I'll take a pic in a while.

Where do you dry them? Outside? Inside? If inside, does it need to be somewhere warm or is it just normal room temperature?

We too have cut and strung up. I have been told the airing cupboard is good, takes about three weeks. The oven also at about 90 degrees C takes about 12 hours. Mine are in the spare room!

I chopped a red one and put it in a marinade for ribs last night and it was amazing! the best ever marinade I think. delicious.

I think I'll bring them into the front room and hang them from a beam and when we have the wood burner alight, they;ll dry. If i leave them in the back of the house they'll stay damp. Confused

They do Smile They cheer me up everytime we go into the spare room. They were easy to grow and easily our most successful crop in the polytunnel. IIRC the variety was "hot and spicy" for the chillies and "papri mild" for the paprikas, the latter were from Future Foods who have now gone bust. The former were from a covermount on Kitchen Garderner, iirc.
