My Rooster has just attacked me when I was out feeding my good girls. He drew blood on the back of my hand and tried chasing me around their garden. I stood my ground and pushed him back with my foot (rather hard at times) but he still came at me. In the end I just stood quietly until he gave up and I walked away. I don't really want him to think he can beat me and that he is top coq.

Oh Mandy,
that's awful,
Have you tried a watergun, I'm sure spraying him with some cool water would cool him down a bit |

Get yourself a squirt gun as George suggested. Use it on him everytime he has a go at you. If the water therapy does not work....you might be forced to give him away or put him in the cooker.
Can't have a mean roo around. Once they cross over to this behavior, they rarely come back to being good boys. |

Yeah, we use a big squirter to deter hens and cats from bad behaviour. Doesn't hurt, is just unpleasant and gets the message across |

Thanks for the water pistol idea,I think that will be on the shopping list tomorrow.
Knobby he is a large Leghorn Rooster and usually quite quiet, but seems to be in a bad mood today (maybe his girls aren't playing ball today) know what I mean!!!!!!
Till later, Mandy |
