Every year, the ranchers that boarder the marsh area are required to flood so many acres and leave it standing in water for the migrating birds.

Guess which pasture/acreage my neighbor behind me, decided to flood this year? Yup! The 20 acres that butt right up to the back of our property. Sad

If that is not an open invitation...I don't know what is. Mad

Too late, they have already done it and the irrigation season is officially over with...that means no more water can be pumped. I am stuck. Sad

Oh Deb, sorry to hear about that ~ does this mean your birds will be being kept in as soon as you see anything foreign arriving?

Oh dear Deb, that's not what you want, is it? Sad

On the idea of talking to the neighbours - I think it's a great idea, unfortunately there's a few by me who are likely to go on the attack before they've heard me out Shocked
I'll certainly think about doing a carefully-worded note to put through doors, tho.

Thinking of autumn migrations, we live close to a wild bird sanctuary. It's less than a mile away and lots of geese fly to and from it (but not directly over our house).

Does this increase the risk to my girls, do you think?
