It's near impossible to cut a face with all the seeds in. If you want it last for ages, you should cut it off the vine with about 3 inches left ( for the handle), then leave it in a warm place for 10 days then a cooler place. The skin will go hard, cut off the top, scoop out the inside and slice a face into it.
