Just a quick update on my 'drunk' chicken!
She has now been on antibiotics for 3 days - and I am convinced there is an improvement.
She is not quite sober yet and is still doing 3 steps forward 2 back!!! BUT - she is definitely spending more time on her feet, seems quite a bit more mobile and when she does fall over - she seems to be able to get up a lot quicker!
So fingers crossed there may two recoveries this week

oh it certainly is Lisa!!! Even the other half said he thought she was doing better - so I know it's not just wishful thinking!!!
Got another drama on my hands at the moment though - scaly leg mite in 3 of my new chickens- ARRGGGHHH!!!
If anyones got any tips they would be appreciated! So far I have soaked in warm soapy water, sprayed with anti mite spray, coated them in vegetable oil. Cleaned out the hutch - sprayed with stay kill - (spray that lasts for 12 weeks) and added that fossil powder stuff to the bedding.
If this isn't the hardest introduction to poultry keeping ever experienced then I will eat my hat!!!! A month into it so many 'events' its untrue!! |
