i have as some of you know got 6 bantie wyandottes, of which 3 have turned out to be boys. they are now starting to fight with each other, and i am getting a bit worried.
there are only 3 women to go round, so until i get rid of one or 2 of them, is there anything more i can do? they free range in garden, with the black rocks and buff orp lf cockerel soon to be reiintroduced (issues with housing!) but they tend to stay in seperate groups anyway.
i read a post where amydyson suggested a bucket of cold water to distract them when they fight, which is a great idea, but we arent at home in the day when it will be happening too!
anyone any other ideas? (or anyone want a bantie cockerel - please!!)
thanks

Ive 2 cocks who did fight while young but now , rocky has took command and to be hones t the RIR COCK now acts more like a hen other than the crowing.
I think they will get a natural pecking order in the end, also i have had more blood from fighting hens lol but like i say they were young |

at one point i had 7 boys to one girl !!! I was very lucky that there was never any fighting....when the 6 boys went off, to live there last days in an orchard they still got on well together....right up to the end !!! I guess it has to do with the breed |

hi
well they are relatively young (20 weeks or so) and although they cant be penned separately as they free range, they are ok when in the ark &run together...
i think its a case of wait and see, and still try to give 2 of them away in the meantime!
thank you!
