Just thought I'd let you know we extracted our first honey this weekend. We got just over 20lb of pale floral honey. I'm quite impressed. It's an amazing return for the amount of effort I put in (max of half an hour a week April - September).
Thought it as going to be a messy, sticky affair, but was actually quite straightforward. Looking at honey recipes now.. |

How lucky!! its wonderful to get so much. i love honey, and always stop off to buy extra from those road side places in Scotland, the heather honey is delic. If you have a little spare, I would love to buy some.

| Ive just been given/lent 10 bee houses (is that what theyre called), if I want them....theyre very old, and need "sprucing up"....I was thinking earlier on in the year about maybe trying it out, but the cost of the hive always put me off !! What do you recken boys.....is it worth a go ????? |
