When she's hatched the chicks, meanwhile corn is good for energy and keeping her heat up. Very Happy

Sorry, I'm only repeating what I was told by another ancient hen keeper (duck Confused ) when Blue was sitting. He said mixed comrn would provide more energy, so that's what she had. Since she wasn't eating much, it made sense to me. I'm sure ancient French man will correct me if I'm wrong. Once the chicks are hatched, then she can go back to normal diet.

Confused

Now I'm unsure too Rolling Eyes

My broody used to come out of the nest once a day and had a drink, a poo and a dust bath. I'm not sure that she got anything to eat. I used to put corn into her nest box morning and evening to make sure she kept her strength up. Once the chicks hatched I put chick crumbs in the house and used to give her corn as well.
