Hi, I know this has been talked of before but as I have no access to it I need to ask again!

I have today brought a growing potatoes tub from the garden centre. I also brought some seed potatoes but they are early ones and have started to shoot quite alot already. Will they be alright to use if I set it up now? They didn't have any second early but they did have main crop. Should I just go for the main crop and forget the early ones?

Thanks

first earlies should be ready to harvest in about 10 weeks from planting. I delayed mine till after that cold spell so they've only been in a couple of weeks.

Do you like Beetroot? That doesn't seem to succum to the usual creepy crawlies or suffer when I forget to water things Embarassed

I also pick a few of the younger tender leaves as its growing to go in salads and eat the beets later. You can even get orange ones now so you fingers don't turn purple... but where's the fun in that Laughing

Buy yourself some of Nigella's cookbooks. She adores the stuff and has a wonderful selection of recipes for it.
