There was mention in another post of a rotten egg exploding under a broody. However, I wouldn't worry unduly, although I'd try not to disturb her too much. My name may not be George...but I have had a rotten egg explode under a broody! I had to clean her up and the remaining eggs as best as I could. The hen smelled horrible for what seemed like forever.....none of the other eggs ever hatched after that. Not sure if that was because the fumes and gases from the bad egg penetrated the shells of the others or not. Couldn't stand to be in the coop for long for weeks afterwards. That is a smell that just doesn't go away easily.
