Goto page 1, 2  Next          The Poultry Keeper Forum Index -> Smallholder animals Author Message milkmaid Joined: 19 Apr 2005 Posts: 7170 Location: isle of lewis Posted: Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:11 pm    Post subject: are pigs possible? can anyone help ,i've just been looking on the net to find out if there is a minimum distance pigs can be kept from the house , cannot find a link but am useless at this stuff ,i've been told everyone up here can keep them where they want ,but in england, when i was very little ,2 policemen came to the door and were asking about someone keeping pigs in the back garden near the house ,i've got an area in mind about 80 feet from the house that needs turning over to put a new polytunnel on. is there distance in scotland ,hopefully piglets coming in spring,got loads of milk and i've run out of things to do with milk can use 4 pints per day but we will be up to about 16,pigs do really well on goats milk suz Back to top Knobby Joined: 13 Apr 2005 Posts: 6707 Location: North Warwickshire Posted: Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:14 pm    Post subject: Sorry, it not any use, been waiting to use it tho' !!! The woman came and looked at our kitchen and started shaking her head! Will keep trying though! I would love to keep pigs, but our landlady is not keen - would love a few old spot girls.
