Nigel's favourite is mashed potato and swede. He can't get enough of it Very Happy

I was brought up on mashed carrot and parsnip, I love it. I make it often, and a friend of ours always looks at me accusingly and says, "Is it swede?" I now put a note on it saying, "No Jon, it's not swede it's parsnip!!" hopefully one day he'll trust me enough not to ask Laughing
Anyway, back to those weird accountants, I wonder what esle they have in common?? Wink

Dictionary.com suggests Swedish turnip or rutabaga

they are ruttabaggas over here but for heaven puree cooked swede,carrot,parsnip butter a dish put in mix cover with grated cheese .ooooooooooh heaven and cheap too.....try in for a winter supper...............mojo Cool

my casserolle stew thing has chicken ,tomatoes,courgette,peppers.potatoes,beetroot,,haricot blanc beans( all from the garden) and tomorrow we will have herby dumplings ..couldnt get them in today not enough room in the pot...........mojo Cool p.s. plus all the usual seasonings bouquet garni and celery salt and 3 drops of pizza oil

Just for the record

I think swede is the most disgusting vegetable ever, and why people would want to pollute delicious potatoes with I'll never know. It is nothing more than the excrement of Beelzebub
