I was in the butcher shoppe yesterday. They had british bangers on the shelf! Cool! Kristi said I should try them, as I talk to you lot all of the time. So I bought a couple.

Now, here's the part where you can not laugh at me.....

How do you all like your bangers? What to you make with them? Are they a morning, noon or night meal?

Hi Deb

Now you're asking!

Either Breakfast with bacon eggs mushroom tomato and fried slice.

Toad-in-the-hole a favourite with kids apparently,

Or Bangers, beans and mash

Or on the run, sausage sarnie with loads of ketchup

Hummmmmmmmm

bangers ~ any time of day. I would have them grilled but you need to pop holes in the skins so they don't explode. Breakfast with eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms ~ a fry up type of meal. Lunch~ bangers and mash or toad in the hole. Tea ~ my children used to like them grilled and cut into small pieces and put on sticks.

LOL

Why did we guess you were going to ask that?

It's sausages in a batter mix (similar to a pancake mix)

You cook the sausages in the tray until nicely brown and then add the batter pop it back in the oven and the batter rises to create a yorkshire pudding.

Batter mix is simply plain flour, touch of salt, egg and milk

Very true,

There's a huge difference in sausages, I like the pork and apple ones, but we often have cumberland sausage as the OH likes them, lincolnshire ones aren't too bad either!

Better go put the roast beef on though or there'll be nowt for him to eat when he wakes up!"

Ok...now I am confused.

We have bratwurst, dinner franks, italian sausage franks, cheddarwurst, chicken apple franks.......

What exactly IS a british banger?

We have a sausage shop here that sells any sausage under the sun, and then some. Smile

Unfortunately, it's right opposite to where my office is moving to in a few weeks time, so I'll probably be in there all the time. I love sausages with chips and egg, as well as with mash, gravy and fried onions!
