They always look nicer with mum & not stuck in a brooder !

Any news on the marans ?

Well, she's is still sitting on the eggs, but they are quite well forward so not as hot as maybe, and no pipping. Will continue to monitor and hope.

looking at the maran chicks, aren't they lovely ? But they both look different like different coloured beaks and different size and brighter white spot ~ would these things determine whether they were girls or boys?

You are supposed to be able to sex Maran chicks by the spot on the head. But I can't remember if it's darker for males or females? Confused

Maybe someone else knows for sure - Mojo??
