Do you know any farmers in the area, where do they go for stuff like electric fencing stakes and wire. The agricultural merchants are your best bet. You will probably have to buy 5gals or whatever that is these days but it will sort out red mite like nothing else.

Dont get the stuff from DIY stores, best of luck Very Happy

Deosect is brilliant for killing redmite - quite expensive but you dilute it in water so it lasts for ages - obviously depends on the amount of houses you are doing.

It is available for professional users only for a set list of uses - treating poultry sheds is acceptable for both the wood preservative and insecticidal/acaricidal properties of it. If you have quite a few birds most suppliers will view you as a professional user as poultry are farm animals not pets. My poultry vet practically prescribed it to control red mite and told me where to go for it! It did the job with 2 coats and 3 weeks to thoroughly dry and air the sheds.

Your only difficulty is finding a supplier - most agricultural merchants have plenty but only in large containers (20L plus). Try www.bowdenandknights.com if you are stuck, they list it.
