| We have four hens and one of our warrens appears to be unwell. She has a hard crop and I wondered if it was impacted. She took herself off to bed and when I took a look at her she was producing a dropping which looked to contain a yolk!? Does anyone know what could be the cause? Thanks |

Ex batts are notorious for becoming ill as they're worn out well before they're rehomed.
If her crop still feels hard tonight then you could drizzle some olive oil into her beak and massage the crop. I'd say it was full of food rather than impacted if she seems well enough in herself. The dropping probably was a shell-less egg. This is normal for ex batts and hens going on or coming into lay. |
