I put in my postcode and (among other things) it came back with various tree surgeons and the like that supplied wood chips Razz

Good luck!

I use a recycle center for all my green waste. any trees we take there are chipped and sold on, maybe you could try going up that avenue, as i suppose all r recycling places do the same.

chicken mummy, I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but I think if we get rain that 'nothing' would have been better than the 'bark chips'. When they get damp they can grow a mould which is harmful to the chickens. I agree that the coloured wood chips could have been harmful too but don't know for sure on that one, although others have mentioned the colour coming out when they get wet.

Oooh - there's more to this chicken keeping than meets the eye! All of those books I read beforehand all said that keeping chickens was a doddle! Just feed, water, and collect eggs (well more or less)And they haven't all started laying yet!
I'm going to contact a tree surgeon tomorrow to see if he can supply me with wood chips as I can't find them anywhere else. Does it matter what trees, or what size, or anything else?
Don't the girls get splinters in their little tootsies?
