I got some silkies and silkie x light sussex bantams so that I could sit some eggs. That was the plan. Did not go broody in the summer, this is the silkie x ......went broody going into Autumn, after laying a few eggs. Thought it was a bit late to be sitting eggs. So she has been sitting in the nest boxes, changing nest boxes every time one of the big hens laid. Some days I found her proudly sitting on 6 hen eggs. Sat all the time, some days not coming off for food.

Yesterday, she laid an egg ....today came off the nest and walked about outside a bit, and tonight she even got on the perch with the others. So it looks like I will be having some lovely little white eggs .....until she goes broody next year. Hopefully a couple of months earlier would be nice ......
