| when i get my chooks i am planning on letting them have some free range time in the garden but one of the things i am worried about is them eating plants which will make them sick. i think i have just identified a shrub with berries in my garden as a Cotoneaster horizontalis (?) which i don't think will be poisonous but i am not a gardener so am not sure what other plants i may have which may be a problem (specifically looked this one up as it has berries). do chooks tend to have instincts about what to eat and what not to eat? |

I've been asking the same.... The answer seems to be hens will not eat poisonous plants if they have a choice of foods... but they might if they are hungry.
I googled 'poisonous plants and chickens' and got a website with a big list. |
