I want to add another choice of coop in the fixed big run, for the little Pekins and Pingu, who'll remain when Muppet goes. I think they're a little out numbered in the coop and being bullied.
Have seen this on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=101434&item=7702029570

and would be finding a way of putting it in here

I'd really value your ideas and opinions Laughing

and this??

I think it might be a little bit small,

you are only really going to get a 2' perch in there, so it depends how many chooks are going to be living there

I like the second one best, also I think it might be easier to put a perch in wood rather than the first one. First one is appealing because it shouldn't harbour mites and will clean and dry quicker. But I think I still go for the wooden one with a door.

I like the wooden one too, it has a door and ventilation. Wood is also easier to modify should it become necessary

I think the wood one looks nicer plus with the door you can shut them up in it without having to modify it to much.

Another vote for wood for the reasons already given (easier to modify, has a door etc). I have looked at the plastic type dog houses on ebay before - thought of one for a dust bath but got out bid...

Are you going to keep them completely separate? If so, you'll obviously need a perch and nest box. And a separate run....?

Or are you just thinking of somewhere separate for them to sleep?

Thanks all. Whilst we were travelling to Plymouth yesterday we discussed the above. I realised I was going a little too far, since the coop is actually big enough for the hens we already have and the extra we'll be adding from the Shetlands. I think they tend to fight when I'm down there watching, but when you go down later, (like when we fetch Muppet up for her antibiotics) they've all settled down. I also believe that once winter arrives, they'll be glad to all huddle up together for warmth. So, the outcome of this , is I will not be buying either, but would have definatley bought the wooden one if need be.
Thanks for all your opinions Very Happy

Noooooo, Pingu's mine, she's too cute to go and stay anywhere Very Happy
