Any ideas why her eye would be frothing in the corner?
I've noticed this a few days ago, and thought I was imagining, but it's more definate today. We've just picked her out of the coop and had a good look with the torch, Mark says it's not pussey but frothy? Confused Sad
This photo was taken yesterday, it doesn't show in any of the others and looks worse today. Confused

This one was taken at the same time and she looks fine??

Bubbles in the eye can be an early sign of mycoplasma infection. The nasal pasages get blocked up and the sinuses connect to the eye ducts so the eyes bubble. See if there is any mucus around the nostrils and listen to her breathing. Have you noticed any sneezing at all?

Maybe she has got something irritating her nostrils or eyes. If she doesn't have any other dodgy symptoms you could try putting a drop or two of optrex in the eye which might help. And if she is a bit snotty you can clean the nostrils by syringing warm water up her nose with F10 in it or a drop of eucalyptus oil.

There are some eye drops you can use for pidgeons but I can't remember what they are called.

Thanks Lilly, she has no other symptoms, I really think there is a small injury casuing her eye to irritate.
I held her for quite a while last night, she's not mucusy and her chest is not wheezy or bubbly. She seems absolutley fine in herself.
I'll see whether I have any Optrex and attempt to put some in her eye Confused , maybe have to wait til night time again, she's impossible to catch in daylight Very Happy
If it doesn't clear up, I'll consult a vet Wink

Good luck Nanny P. Muppet is just toooooooo adorable to get sick and leave us all. I feel like she is a part of all of our flocks at this point.

Knobby will have to do a good job of keeping pics rolling in after he takes her or we will all go through withdrawls!!!! Shocked

It's a difficult one Deb, cos she always looks fine when I let them up in the morning, and it looks a little watery at night? So, I'm waiting and watching Confused

Every night since you first noticed it? Could she have allergies? Where does she spend her afternoon? I know my girls have a routine that they go around in, maybe something in her routine is newly flowering/pollinating?

It's only one eye so I don't think it's an allergy. Confused

She's a beauty alright, can chickens suffer with hayfever? If so can you give her a drop of honey? Rolling Eyes
