Got a Amber to replace the one the dogs killed, it has taken a week to start to trust me and my family but is still having a bad time with the chickens, when i got it i noticed it had had some pretty rough treatment in its old coup by the missing feathers just above the long tail feathers, also it looked a bit scabby, and i regret to say nothing has changed for it here maybe it is even worse as now it has got cuts were the scabs were , any advise on treatment to cuts and ways to curb the behavior welcome |

Dean,
First, put a bit of antibiotic creme on the open wounds, then get some stockholm tar to put on top of that....as chickens are attracted to the color red, the others will continue to pick at it until it is healed or concealed. |

There are links to supplies and such in the FAQ area. Not sure who you would use for the stockholm tar, but I am sure a quick search of the links listed will get you there.
Yes, the antibiotic creme can be the stuff for humans...it is what I use on my girls when they get boo-boo's. |
