Hi just in the process of buying a couple of silver laced wyandottes, just wondered how small an egg they lay as someone has told me they are about the size of a pigeon egg, just curious, doesn't matter that much as I'm getting them any way.

| Our gold laced wyandotte and blue laced wyandotte lay eggs pretty much the same size as our other chickens of the same age. They will be around 6 months old, now, and the eggs are 50-60g (ie size 3-4/standard). |

I have a Partridge and a Gold Laced Wyandotte, their eggs are not proportionate to their body size. My Wellie who is around about the same size lays 74-77g eggs, whereas Chickin Lickin Purple, who is my biggest bird, lays a 60ish gram egg.

My Wyandotte that looks very much like NannyP's lays small eggs the size of the cheapest economy job in the supermarket the problem is fighting her for them as she's so broody |
