Due to an absolutely stunning torrent of kindness and lovely comments and even a request for more (thanks Dusty) I have put a bunch of pics together with a little info on them of what I have made recently, these are all mine and my handwork alone 100% garanteed and if anyone fancies buying one or two or....lol they will come signed by myself.
I am very grateful to be able to , lets face it , show off my wares and will be giving a percentage of any sold to the forum .
I hope you enjoy looking as much as I like making them and if anyone has any requests I will try my best to accomodate them (cheers Egirl, this butter churn is going to be amazing!!,lol lol ) ,

Hi Milkmaid, Spidle???? I guess that should be spindle, but even so I'm not sure what one is . Is it for hand spinning wool? If you have a picture of one that you could post or pm me with it would be great.
Talking to Debcat the other day and saying I wanted to try a go at tapestry bobbins but need to get hold of one to know the thread capacity and the balance but think they should be quite straightforward , even elaborate ones .
I have cut the staves for the churn from oak but am waiting on finding an old traffic cone that needs a good home to use as a former for the conical part and I need a brazing kit to make the steel bands that go around it , I have the steel already (old bandsaw blades with the teeth ground off ) once I have them it should be plain sailing (he says with confidence!) lol, making it wet proof inside is the most critical thing but swollen wet oak should do it well , after all it did good for Henry VIII and his ships!
Keep all the suggestions coming in as a new challenge is something I thrive on and if poss include a pic or two thanks . |
