| I've still got a pair of silver LF and a number of bantam hens. Feisty, streetwise, first class layers who just don't get ill. Most of the bantams prefer to sleep in trees, but do lay their eggs in nestboxes. Very quick to mature - I'm contemplating some more LF if I can get hatching eggs as although I know the cock is fertile, the hen has always laid misshapen eggs so I've never hatched them. I no longer have a bantam Fayoumi cockerel as I couldn't source an unrelated one. they are not cuddly chicken, but full of character and highly intelligent. |
