Hello again everyone,
just a couple of question's regarding molting, does it happen at a particular time of the year, and if so when, I also here it affects laying to what degree ish, by that i mean would all my birds stop laying or do they just slow down, and also how long does the molt last?? |

Hi,
Good question, I don't think there is a set answer to that one
Mine don't seem to have a pattern, one is moulting now not long after she sat on some eggs.
they usually stop laying when they are moulting.
Some seem to moult just a bit while others have big nearly bald patches.
Hope this helps

Some of mine have started.
Sometimes there seems to be feathers everywhere! But I have also had them quite bald in places, in the Autumn when it's been quite cold.
They do not lay when moulting. |
