Hello again everyone,
just a couple of question's regarding molting, does it happen at a particular time of the year, and if so when, I also here it affects laying to what degree ish, by that i mean would all my birds stop laying or do they just slow down, and also how long does the molt last?? Confused Confused Smile

Hi,
Good question, I don't think there is a set answer to that one Rolling Eyes
Mine don't seem to have a pattern, one is moulting now not long after she sat on some eggs.
they usually stop laying when they are moulting.
Some seem to moult just a bit while others have big nearly bald patches.

Some of mine have started.

Sometimes there seems to be feathers everywhere! But I have also had them quite bald in places, in the Autumn when it's been quite cold.

They do not lay when moulting.

as far as I know they don't moult in the first year
