Yes. Via the barring gene which all the boys inherit but none of the girls. (assuming its as written ie LS Cockerel X Legbar Hen). At hatching this shows as the lighter down colour of the boys.
The reverse mating would not be sexable by this gene because all chicks would inherit the barring gene but it would be a Gold Cockerel X Silver Hen mating so would be sexable by this method. |

| The conentional method of writing would be the cock first and then the hen, so you'd know what was what. |
