| I usually mark eggs as I take them from the houses if I want them for hatching. That one I didn't, so decided it probably was but luckily put a ? mark on it. Little black chick with 5 toes hatched this morning - it wasn't a Cream legbar egg, but a Fayoumi crossed with my Araucana/Silkie cross hen who I bought at auction a couple of years ago because she looked so depressed! I do hope it's a pullet. |

| If the mother is anything to go by, she'll be completely useless but an excellent layer. That hen has never even contemplated going broody! |
