hi guys one of my girls is holding one eye shut quite a lot and i noticed that when she opens it has clear fluid bubbles coming out of corner she seems fine otherwise and is eatin and drinking ok I have some fucithalmic drops in the cupboard from when one of the others had a scratched eye do u think these might help

bubbly eyes, is a good indication of microplasma, i would isolate her and get her to a vet for some antibiotics ASAP if i were you. xx

thanks gave eye a good clean with saline and put some drops in hubby found some baytril in cupboard so gave her some of that earlier and it looks loads better already

Hope she gets better soon, and i'm glad to hear she's already looking so, but just be aware that microplasma has a nasty habit of returning with secondary infections mate, keep your eye on her, (pardon the pun!) and also the other hens as it's highly contagious with a very long incubation period, sometimes it can lay dormant, and rear it's ugly head when the birds are stressed. good luck. xx

Sounds like she's got a respiratory infection, they can produce bubbles from the eye's and nostrils.

Baytril is a good antibiotic to clear it up

Baytril is also what they use for microplasma, so if you can get some of that from the vet, they should be ok! good luck. xx
