If anyone has trouble with early morning crowing you may want to try what I did - I taped a double layer of black bin bag over the window of the hen house and they don't know when morning is ( a boon when sunrise is 4am).
As this has worked, hubby is going to make shutters for the windows so they can get light through the day - especially important here in the winter when the weather may keep them in and the days are very short.
Haven't had to resort to my neighbour's idea of how to shut up 2 cockerals with black bags and tape after all - not yet anyway! lol! |

| hmm that may prove handy for me ,may keep me out of bother, i was wondering if there were any ways of delaying the early morning wake up call, some one also told me if u let the cock only have access to a run, low enough to stop the cock raising his neck to crow, this will stop the crowing! then at a more reasonable time let him loose into the normal run, don't know if it works,? but the guy who told me has many years experience with fowl etc. |
