| Mrs Trousers is sitting on 7 eggs, 10 days to go...Mrs Brown and White has just been settled on 8 eggs......14 growing in the netted coop. That's my lot for the year. |

Well, no one is laying, they're either brooding or moulting
I've just popped another egg under Mrs B & W..so that's 9....I have 5 birds in the freezer....14+7+9=30, which is more than enough to eat, oh and at least 2 of the 3 week old chicks
It's at times like these (when trying to count) that I miss Summayah |

| Don't even mention moult and non layers - that encompasses most of my flock at the moment. Only the Cream legbars and Welbars are still laying well, and I don't expect that to last. |

Hmmm, well my maths isn't that brilliant, but I still only counted 7....
I hope Summayah is well, wherever she is, & that she has her quota of 7 chickens.
We've several going into the moult now & about 7-8 broody, so egg production is well down at the moment.
We're *thinking* of going to see some Barnevelder bantams tomorrow, so may possibly have a few more editions to the family.... |

We accidentally acquired 6 extra ducklings this week. One of our muscovies and one of our non-cayuga cayuga's were fighting over hatching a load of eggs in the same nest and were too vicious to dissuade from doing it, so it would have been a shame not to. |

You know how it is, NannyP. I always said that I would never hatch after the longest day!
Anyway, I must go and check on my two-day old chicks . |

My dad was here picking up a parcel to post for me on Friday and his passenger asked him how many chickens I had and was very puzzled when he replied 7! |
