I have 8 chooks, one of whom has taken a liking to the other girls eggs. I only have 3 laying as the others are all p.o.l. I have tried golf balls, and removing the eggs once laid, but if I am not quick enough at removing the eggs, she has eaten it. She even waits in the house for the layers to do their stuff!! I have not yet tried the mustard in an egg trick yet. It has been like this for 2 weeks now. Would beak clips be any good for this? Any comments would be appreciated

You should really put "egg eating" into the search facility here as there are loads of posts about it but to be brief: Mustard eggs are useless as chickens (birds in general) cannot taste the hot taste of mustard or chilli. The best thing is to make nest box as dark as possible because if they can't see the egg they won't peck it. Failing that investigate rollaway nest boxes.

An incurable egg eater should be put in solitary, culled & eaten, or given a couple of weeks with an enthusiastic cock.
