We don't have (cannot find) a hot water bottle!
We do have an insulated bag, one used for picnics or to bring frozen food home. In the bottom of the freezer we had a foil, flexible bag full of frozen liquid. I have defrosted it, palced it in very hot water for 5 minutes and it feels like it will hold heat for a while. I have wrapped it around the eggs, along with a thermometer and placed it all in the insulated bag.
I will check on temperature in 30 mins, reheat the foil wrap and continue and place the eggs, back beneath Mum, in the dark tonight. I will then close her in (since she's had the most enormous poo today) and leave her and chicks, locked in with food and water and wait. 25 days, cor, thanks goodness I haven'te gone and let them cool.
Thanks Mojo, I'll keep you posted |
