Hi LMC. I will find out how much it costs to send it to Australia - and if I am allowed to send it. You can't spray the house with it, it goes in the chickens' drinking water and works by making the chickens taste really bad to the pests. It works on mites/lice/fleas and scaley leg mites and so far I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it!

Thanks Kate,
Mine is all measured out and in the their water. Three mites had the audacity (spelling!!!?) to wander round the outside of the house next to me, whilst I was adding it to the water!

I will follow your instructions to the letter.

Thanks again.

Mojo - I suggest you contact Jay Carson direct. You can email him on jaycarson@redmitecure.com. He may agree to let you become a supplier in the same way I am - doing a trial with folk in France. If not, I should be able to send some to you.

After detecting a few redmite clusters in the coop on Sunday, we've now started using this remedy, kated.
But we're also using Diatom as we've previously found this to be the best remedy.
We'll let you know how we get on.
Hope it works! Wink

I've been using it for 3 weeks and still have the little blighter's, they seem to be disregarding the layer of diatom I have down too!

Do you know if this herbal remedy is supposed to take some time to get into their systems? Any idea how long?

Thanks

Suggest you email Jay Carson and see what he says. It might also be worth upping the amount to 2 ml per 10 litres and seeing if that does anything.

Sorry Newby, missed that. I am a little dubious of sending it airmail or anywhere I have to fill out a customs form. I just sent some to Australia and they stopped it at customs and said it would cost around £60 to send it back to me or they would destroy it there. I described it on the form as herbal poultry tonic sample but I guess they thought it was dodgy. Your best bet is to get a friend/relative to bring it out when they come and visit. I would be happy to send it to any UK address.

Well, Im not sure how I feel about my sample. I am currently in the process of creasoting the house and the place is riddled with lice! (no sign of redmite). Now I know that the treatment is supposed to work on the chickens, but I am finding it disconcerning finding so many in a spotlessly clean and dry wooden poultry house... hopefully the creasote substitute solution will do the trick!

Hope you give this info to Jay Carson - here's hoping all those lice are starving because they don't like the taste of your chickens!
