Unfortunately, I cannot allow to let them roam free Sad

But, I will be making an enclosure for the birds, of about 10' x 9' x 6'(High) I have been informed that there will be no need to put a cover on, cos they won't get over that height.

However, to ensure that it was suggested that I string wire across to act as a barrier. Has anyone done this before?

There is/will be a cover on the more secure area.

not sure about the wire, but i would say 9 ft is fine. make sure the mesh is as small as you can get! and good luck with your build! Very Happy

I am using 1" x 1" weld mesh or smaller.

By wire, it could have been string, rope etc. Just something to stop them flying out.

Hi if your run is 6ft high a determined hen will get out, also a determined fox could get in. Better to cover run to be safe. Also covering run prevents wild birds getting in and bringing nasty diseases with them. Good luck with your build.

I don't actually get tham till friday. Just making sure that I have everything prepared. Also, found a supplier of poultry food not too far away.
I'll have to see about getting a net one night this week on my way home from work.
